CEO “SPOTLIGHT” POMM: Safety and Connectivity for Families”

As a member of the Latinas100™ Authors community, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to meet Maryann Kilgallon, the founder of Pink Lotus Technologies and the creator of the POMM safety platform. I was impressed by her dedication to helping individuals stay safe and connected with their loved ones, especially in public spaces and at home. Kilgallon’s company recently launched the POMM platform and has now announced the opening of a $2 million seed round to bring the brand national.

The POMM safety platform includes a wearable device that allows users to track their location and stay in contact with their chosen emergency contacts. It also includes an app that allows for easy communication between users and their emergency contacts.

I had the chance to test out the POMM safety platform on a recent trip to Legoland with my family. My six-year-old son, Max, wore the POMM safety watch while we were at the park. As any parent knows, it can be easy for children to become separated from their caregivers in crowded public places. With the POMM watch, I was able to track Max’s location on my phone and ensure that we remained connected at all times. (Picture on right)

Not only did the POMM watch provide peace of mind for me as a parent, but it was also easy for Max to use. He enjoyed the vibrant color of the watch and was able to quickly learn how to use the app’s features. It was a valuable teaching moment for both of us, as we discussed the importance of staying safe in public spaces and knowing how to use the POMM platform in an emergency.

If you are interested in learning more about the POMM safety platform, you can visit the company’s website at www.pommconnect.com. It is exciting to see Latino entrepreneurs like Kilgallon making a difference in the safety industry and we look forward to seeing the continued growth and success of Pink Lotus Technologies.

In addition to Kilgallon’s innovative work with the POMM platform, it is also worth noting the importance of safety in public spaces for children. According to a study conducted by the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, approximately 12,175 children under the age of 18 were treated in emergency departments for playground-related injuries in 2015. To ensure the safety of children in public spaces, it is crucial for caregivers to closely supervise children and to be aware of any potential hazards. The POMM safety platform can provide an extra layer of protection for families, giving caregivers the ability to quickly locate and communicate with their children in an emergency.

It is also important to consider the issue of missing children. According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), approximately 460,000 children are reported missing each year in the United States. While the vast majority of these children are quickly found, it is crucial for caregivers to have a plan in place in case a child goes missing. The POMM safety platform can provide a valuable tool in these situations, allowing caregivers to quickly locate and communicate with their children.

It’s important to me to support and highlight talented women, particularly those within the Latino community. It’s crucial that we recognize and showcase the innovative work of Latino entrepreneurs in the tech industry, as they contribute valuable technologies and employment opportunities to our country.
